Artist Biography

Astrid always enjoyed painting from an early age but was lead by her parents to other career paths and it wasn’t until after bringing up a family that she was given the opportunity to pursue her passion for art.

Astrid achieved the 2004 Emerging Artist Encouragement Award at the College of Art Eagle Farm and has exhibited her art at many different art spaces in Brisbane, Queensland.

She is in her second year Bachelor of Fine Art at the Queensland College of Fine Art after completing her Diploma in Fine Art at Eagle Farm in 2005.

Exploring many mediums over the years, Astrid has exhibited particular painting skill in oil and acrylics. She also has introduced Etching/Screen Printing/Monoprint and Jewellery making into her studio practice.

Astrid has created numerous commissions and enjoyed participation in Urban Ecology projects.
